Kheir Al-Kodmany, PhD

Professor of Spatial Planning and Urban Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago(UIC)

    Kheir Al-Kodmany is a Professor of Spatial Planning and Urban Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). His research and teaching cover a wide-spectrum of topics including vertical urbanism, sustainable design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), visualization systems, public participation, crowd management and economic development. He has published over 100 articles and six books. He taught at UIC for 23 years, 5 years at UIUC and lectured worldwide. He has assisted former Mayor M. Daley in restructuring the Taste of Chicago event and assisted numerous cities in preparing master plans. He also worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago.
